Out of the four brothers, Anders' arc is the most intriguing to me and his development is definitely the most prominent (especially due to events in the third season that cause him to develop PTSD, which is portrayed realistically). I found myself relating to the characters' unique personalities, and while I found myself disliking one of the main characters (Mike, although you can hardly blame me), I was still totally invested in the character development arcs. It's a great show-the characters are fantastic, funny, and well-written (especially the female characters), and the storyline is well thought-out and not too complicated or simple.

It's not popular or widely known outside of New Zealand, but I sincerely hope that it being shown on SyFy gains it a bigger audience. I marathoned through all three seasons and came to the conclusion that this was definitely my new favorite tv show. I first saw The Almighty Johnsons last year and almost instantly fell in love with the characters and storyline.
